International Highland Newspaper
Despite the flood of e-news-letters and information available on the Internet, I felt there was a place for a Highland cattle newspaper.
A newspaper can be read over and over again, can be collected, filed away and referred to when necessary, can be enjoyed with a cup of coffee anywhere. Most importantly it provides us breeders with a forum, where we can all voice our opinion, where we can learn from each other and where we can mentor and help each other.
This newspaper is totally independent, there will be no articles on any society, it is solely concerned with promoting the Highland breed.
Preview of contents - Each issue will contain:
1. an Editorial
2. Questions and Answers (please start submitting your questions now)
3. Special Feature (The topic for the July edition will be “Artificial Breeding”, everything concerned with AI, embryo harvesting and transfer.
4. Portrays of two folds, one old established one and one brand new one
5. Funny stories and jokes (you are very welcome to tell us about your hilarious farm experiences
6. Scottish Highland Beef recipies (please submit your favourite recipy
7. Ads: You are very welcome to advertise your animals for sale, semen straws, embryos or even farm machinery.
Subscription will run for one year from July 2009 to July 2010.
The newspaper will appear quarterly. Deadline for ads and articles is July 1st. The newspaper will be in your
letter box by July 20th. I have already received articles from all over the world, which will make an interesting learning experience for all of us.
Subscriptions are $40 either by cheque or electronic payment.
